Kick, bass and rhythmic ground.
GERÇEK DORMAN LIVE · WEEKLY SETS
EP.005 / 07 SEP 2026 / 35:10
Razor
Pulse
A 130 BPM conversation between rhythm, resonant synthesis, textured percussion and piano fragments — techno in its physical body, progressive in its journey and melodic in the space between its phrases.
THE CENTRAL IDEA
Every sound is a language.
The performance lets them speak.
The groove is not only a foundation. It is the place where different voices learn how to answer, interrupt, support and leave space for one another.
- TRK-01Kick and bass establish the grammar and physical direction.
- RAZORPlayed synth voices bring resonance, tension and melodic intent.
- NewscoolTextured percussion adds friction and irregular detail.
- MPC Live 3Piano samples and percussion loops introduce memory and human timing.
- APC64 + MIDImixPlaying, form, software, mix and effects remain under continuous physical control.

EXPLORE THE SYSTEM
Different languages.
A shared listening space.
Select a voice to see how rhythm, synthesis, texture, samples and physical control remain connected.
TRK-01 gives the set its physical grammar. Kick and bass remain clear enough to hold direction while their relationship leaves space for every other sound to speak.
SELECTED MODULE
Reaktor TRK-01
TRK-01 gives the set its physical grammar. Kick and bass remain clear enough to hold direction while their relationship leaves space for every other sound to speak.
To describe a whole city with only a few words.
Razor Pulse documents a point where the rhythm, the sound palette and the feeling have begun to belong to the same language.
This is the groove I want to continue developing. Its identity is already present, even if its future sentences can become clearer. The live performances are part of that process: not demonstrations of a finished answer, but journeys through the way I think.
Sounds feel like different languages to me. TRK-01 speaks through weight and repetition. RAZOR speaks in resonance, pressure and melodic edges. Newscool answers with textured percussion. Piano samples and loops on MPC Live 3 bring another memory into the conversation.
“My role is to let the sounds speak to one another — and to become the space in which that conversation can happen.”
APC64 and MIDImix keep this exchange physical. Playing notes, changing form, balancing channels and shaping effects remain parts of the same thought. Ableton Live is not the composition itself; it is the room in which the voices meet.
The approach is deliberately minimal: fewer elements, clearer relationships, more meaning in the space between them. Like trying to describe an enormous city in a handful of words, the aim is not to show everything. It is to choose the details that make the whole place appear.
PERFORMANCE MAP
Thirteen phrases.
One inner journey.
- 01
First words
Kick, bass and restrained percussion establish a minimal grammar before the voices begin to answer one another.
- 02
The groove finds its language
TRK-01 settles the low-end conversation while the first RAZOR gestures define the set's tonal edge.
- 03
Texture enters
Newscool percussion adds grain and implication rather than another dominant rhythmic sentence.
- 04
Space between phrases
The low end withdraws and the stereo field opens, allowing silence and resonance to carry meaning.
- 05
First full body
Rhythm, bass and synthesis return as a single, legible progressive-techno movement.
- 06
Melodic drift
Piano fragments and RAZOR voices bring a more melodic language into the established pulse.
- 07
A shorter sentence
Density falls away; the system pauses without losing the direction of the journey.
- 08
Return to motion
The groove re-enters with firmer focus and a tighter relationship between the rhythmic layers.
- 09
Reduction
Elements are removed until only the essential idea remains audible.
- 10
Rebuilt conversation
The voices return in a changed relationship, with APC64 and MIDImix keeping form and expression under the hands.
- 11
The horizon widens
Upper textures spread outward and prepare the final movement without abandoning the minimal core.
- 12
Final city
The strongest sustained drive makes a large space from a small vocabulary of sounds.
- 13
Last light
The system releases its weight and leaves the final resonance open.
