Gerçek Dorman is a Turkish-Cypriot musician, electronic music producer and hybrid live performer whose work brings the physical language of drums and percussion into contemporary electronic music.

Based in Ankara, he has built a multidisciplinary career spanning performance, production, sound design, education, artist relations and music technology. His current live format combines original material, real-time arrangement, finger drumming and acoustic/electronic percussion across house, Afro house, tech house and progressive electronic music.

Rhythm as a lifelong language.

Dorman’s professional musical path began with drums and percussion and later expanded into production, live electronics and DJ performance. He completed Berklee Online studies in Drums and in Music Composition & Production, while his drum studies in New York included work with Jim Payne, Rod Morgenstein and Yoron Israel.

He is the author of the D52 Drum Method, now in its 14th edition, and the founder of the D52 Drum and Percussion Festival. His work as an educator has included workshops, artist training and university programmes, including an Ableton Live 12 Sound Design & Production course at Tongji University and the collaborative Sound of Shanghai project.

As a producer, his releases and collaborations have appeared through Café De Anatolia, Moodlab Records and other imprints. “Wait for Me” reached #13 on the Beatport Hype Melodic House chart, while “The Falling” was selected for four Apple Music editorial playlists. His performance history includes Superbooth Berlin 2018, ADE 2025 and club and cultural events across Türkiye and China.

Today, Dorman’s stage identity is centred on a musician-led hybrid live show. Rather than placing percussion around a conventional DJ set, he builds and reshapes the music in real time — merging drum vocabulary, tactile controllers, live percussion and unreleased original productions into a single performance system.
